ACTIVITIES ON NATURE OF PELION

This day trip offers the chance to experience a ride on the famous little steam train of Pelion, created and launched in 1895.

Can you think of something more exciting than climbing and swimming in one of Pelion’s hidden paradises? A via ferrata canyoning route has been designed in one of Pelion’s canyons, either for beginners or advanced , so give yourself the chance to admire waterfalls and naturally formed pools.

All security measures were taken to construct 148 iron steps and handles to help participants reach the finish line of the 300m route. After a break for resting and snacking the team returns either from the Via Ferrata or with canyoning of 5 abseils, jumps, slides, flying fox and swimming in large lakes. The gastronomy, culture and natural landscape of Pelion, through the many traditional aromas and flavours of this region of Greece, are going to follow you back home. You will visit the vegetable garden to learn about the seasonal products and herbs locally grown in Pelion.Most ingredients are taken from this garden and they are usually prepared and ready to be used in special bowls before the class starts. During the class, traditional Greek spirits like “tsipouro” or “ouzo” are served accompanied by olives and feta cheese.

Horse Riding in Pelion is no doubt a strong recall of a beloved Greek habit, related to the Centaurs, the mythical creatures (half-men and half-horses) famous for their bravery, wisdom and wide knowledge of herbs and their healing effects.

Horses had been for centuriese the only way of transportation until machines showed up.Either through cobbled paths or the forest,the routing is really enchanting.Listen to the peaceful pacing of the horses trotting through small traditional villages, old monasteries and castles.
